At Zhuhai, I was the only person around, a total contrast to the swarms of (mainly Chinese) tourists at Hongcun. After an hour’s walk along deserted forest paths between towering bamboos, I spotted the village between the leaves. Take a look at the pictures below to get a taste of this remarkable place.

I liked Hongcun so much that after visiting first-time on a day trip, I decided to go back and spend a night staying in a homestay in the village. It is a beautifully preserved Huizhou village and an amazing place to spend a couple of days. Check out the pictures below and see for yourself.
